The paramount issue is whether a new treatment will afford more benefit at the same level of risk as existing therapies. In relation to coronary artery disease the first question is therefore whether CAD can be diagnosed without angiography. A second question is whether medical therapy can afford a normal lifestyle without a shorter survival than an intervention. To both questions the answer is a categorical YES!
